30 second overview

. . .

Pasifika 2015 aims at four main outcomes.
1. Support, advocate and promote the need for a "confident, well informed and professional" news media across Pacific Islands.
2. Advocate public broadcasters and news media associations as training centres for ethics-based web2 community learning.
3. Promote good governance through real-time, real-world, real-people transparency and accountability.
4. Link communities to overseas and national, regional and international counterparts.
Pasifika 2015 suggests ways that aid assistance can be deployed effectively ahead of United Nations targets for achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

draft note societal transformation

. . .

SOCIETAL TRANSFORMATION

Pasifika 2015 suggests an upscaling of technical capacity using simple tools, simple techniques to achieve simple societal transformation.

Not as a business, although possible too, but virtual outsourcing as a business development 'approach' suitable for third world, real-world, real-time, real-people transactions.

Pasifika 2015 is low tech, relying on email as first point of contact for auto-publishing websites from community participation and partnership. Kind of like an IT version of micro-finance, but words first, dollars later.

FREE MARKET OF IDEAS

Pasifika 2015 uses a 'draft notes' approach allows a free market of ideas, adopting an anything-goes aspect from capitalism.

Other influences include talk, discussion or white papers from public sectors like government and private sector think-tanks, the difference here being that it occurs, hopefully, in real time.

If nothing else, draft notes form a stream-of-consciousness record for debate, analysis and criticism of Pasifika 2015. In donor terms, draft notes are real-world, providing early assessment, review and evaluation, evolving suggested by organisations like NZAID, all via simple tools like email.
